Client project: R&D Partnerships Acquisition in Europe in the Chemicals & Materials Industry for a Fortune 500 Japanese Group
Our client a fortune 500 Japanese group made tremendous progress in developing its Materials Informatics tool/platform for the Chemicals & Materials (C&M) industry. To ensure the product’s market viability, Client sought additional support from JEVVRS to validate its business value hypothesis and to secure R&D partnerships in Europe.

Our Contributions
We worked closely with Client’s management to define suitable R&D partner criteria and scanned the chemicals & materials industry to identify relevant companies. Our strategic and technical capabilities research enabled us to shortlist potential partners effectively.
We then established contact with the key management of these shortlisted companies, introduced interested parties to Client, and supported Client in various strategic aspects of the R&D partnership acquisition process.
Our Approach
- Understanding Requirements: We thoroughly understood Client’s strategy and expectations, identified limiting factors, and finalized criteria for the ideal R&D partner in Europe.
- Scouting and Selection: Our research involved looking into a population of ~300 relevant companies in Europe. With further application of Client's multi-level screening criteria and timely interventions with Client, we were able to shortlist the companies to 25
- Engaging Potential Partners: We established initial contact with key management, assessed their interest in partnership, made introductions with NDAs in place, and supported Client in discussions and additional information gathering.
